soft今后还将加入新的内容供玩家下载。本作的剧情由专业剧本作家编写，虽然游戏仍然采用开放式设计，玩家将会更加贴近故事情节。喜欢故事情节的玩家可以尽情探索本作剧情，而喜欢自由行动的玩家可以尽情在游戏中探索。玩家扮演的是《X2》中的角色Julian Brenner以及他的儿子Kyle Brenner（《X》第一作的角色）随着游戏的进行，本作中还将出现很多新角色。
